Course Description
Short-term research project in molecular tropical medicine and genetics, analysis, discussion, oral presentation
Course Goals
After this course, the students will have acquired skills to conduct research in molecular tropical medicine to generate new knowledge. Through direct research experience, each student will learn to design research, conduct experiments using molecular biological tools, and communicate research findings to the scientific audience.
Course-level Learning Outcomes: CLOs
At the end of the course, the students should be able to
CLO1: Conduct molecular biology research using proper scientific methods and information technology
CLO2: Interpret experimental results in molecular biology
CLO3: Present research findings

In my PCR test, it looked like there was a band in the control that didn’t have any DNA. But the results from other tests show clear bands. What is makes PCR unsuccessful? and May I use this information? Thank you:)
Negative controls (water without DNA templates)should show no DNA bands. The presence of bands in the negative controls implies contamination. The PCR must be redone with fresh reagents in this case. Hope this helps.
