| Background | Dr. Pimphen is Lecturer in the Department of Tropical Hygiene. She was awarded Ph.D. in Statistical Genetics by Imperial College London for research into the role of genetic variation of complex dieseases in human as well as different approaches to improve related analyses. After her Ph.D, she took up positions as a research fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and a research associate at the University College London (UCL), where she investigated the underlying genetics of the metabolome, and examining the causal effect of various modifiable exposures, including kidney-function and metabolic measures on cardiovascular related diseases using genetics as an instrument. In 2017, she took up a lectureship at a Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Thailand. She has continued her work to investigate the causal effect of modifiable exposures on coronary heart disease under Mahidol research funding, and recently broaden her research to investigate the causal effect of modifiable exposures on heart failure under the Thailand Research Fund. |
