1. Course Goals
The course aims to increase the student’s skill to apply both current scientific knowledge and appropriate tools for research in tropical diseases. Research article-based discussion and patent searching will be arranged for participants to re-enforcement their research background from the previous course (e.g., TMID5xx: Multidisciplinary & Joint Seminar in Tropical Medicine (Paper criticism and presentation skill). Health problems or case-based scenarios will be further set up for group discussion focusing on study designs and methodologies regarding ethical and scientific aspects. The students will improve their communication skills in association with discussion abilities. The outcomes of this course are useful for their research proposal development.

1.demonstrate ethical awareness related to scientific presentation and conduct of research
2. communicate and participate in a class discussion based on scientific knowledge and rational thinking
3. analyze issues in tropical medicine; identify study design and tools to solve these problems
