Inflammation or Infection: Abnormalities in MRI/MRV scans could indicate inflammation or infection in the brain, such as encephalitis.
Vascular Abnormalities: MRV scans can reveal issues with the brain’s venous system, such as thrombosis, which could be a complication of an infectious process or a direct effect of a tropical disease (malaria).
Q4.
Antimalarials: IV Artesunate →after improvement, oral ACTs 3 day
Steroids
Q1: multiple intra-cellular thin ring-formed stage parasites without RBCs enlargement, likely severe P. falciparum malaria infection
Q2: Severe Plasmodium falciparum malarial infection with cerebral malaria (encephalopathy) as complications
Q3: Blood sequestration in cerebral veins causing sinus venous thrombosis
Q4: IV Artesunate + anticonvulsants +/- anticoagulants
