Course Description
Food and water-borne gastrointestinal diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, protozoa and soil-transmitted helminths, life-cycle, pathogenesis, pathology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management, prevention and control.
Course Goals
The program aims to train students with fundamental knowledge, high-level skills, to ana-lyze symptoms and risk factor, differential diagnosis and plan of treatment and prevention in Food- and Water-Borne Diseases and Soil-Transmitted Helminthia
Course Objectives
- After completing the course, the students could be able to
- Describe common food and water – borne diseases, transmission, pathogenesis, sign/symptom, diagnosis/prevention, and soil – transmitted helminthiasis
- Describe growth and life – cycle and relation of organisms/ helminths and human
- Describe epidemiology and control of common food and water – borne diseases
